What Reddit Archive is

Reddit Archive is an independent tool for finding publicly available Reddit posts and comments. You can search by keyword, open a post or comment from its link, or list the public posts and recent comments of a username or subreddit. Each result shows the text that was actually returned, when it was posted, when we fetched it, and a link to the original on Reddit.

Not affiliated with Reddit

Reddit Archive is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. “Reddit” and the Reddit logo are trademarks of Reddit, Inc. We use the name only to describe the public content our tool reads.

Where results come from

The content is public Reddit content. When you search, your request goes through our server to a third-party data service that reads publicly available Reddit content and returns it to us. We do not run our own historical archive of Reddit, and we do not use other archives or web snapshots as a fallback.

What it covers — and what it doesn’t

  • It finds public posts and comments that Reddit still makes available through our data service.
  • Lists can be truncated. A list that ends is not proof that nothing else exists.
  • Date and keyword filters on a user or subreddit list only check results you have already loaded.
  • It does not recover deleted or removed text, show private or banned communities, or retrieve messages, chats, saved or hidden items.
  • A post marked “Archived” on Reddit is a different thing: it only limits new votes and comments. See why Reddit posts get archived.

Credits

New accounts get 1 free credit when they sign up, and it never expires. A credit is used when a lookup actually delivers at least one record. Empty results, errors and timeouts do not use credits. See pricing for details.
